Some fish stories need proof.

Guided paddlefish trips on Oklahoma's big water.

Keystone Lake and Fort Gibson Lake, with Captain Billy Genay. Gear, boat and know-how are on board. You bring the day.

Talk to Billy. Pick your day. Get on the water.

Meet your guide

You are not booking a company. You are fishing with Billy.

Captain Billy Genay answers the phone, runs the boat and puts the rods in your hands. That is the whole operation, and it is the reason the day feels less like a transaction and more like a friend taking you out on water he knows.

Paddlefish — spoonbill, if that is what you grew up calling them — are the specialty. First-timers, families and people who have not held a rod in twenty years all end up in the same boat, and it works.

On the water

This is what a day with Billy feels like.

Cold air off the water before sunrise. Rods set, coffee going, nobody in a hurry. Then a rod loads up and the whole boat turns at once.

You do not need experience, your own gear or a plan. You need a date and a phone call.

Two home waters

Where Billy fishes.

Keystone Lake

A big, broad reservoir west of Tulsa where the Arkansas and Cimarron rivers meet — one of Billy's two home waters for guided paddlefish trips.

Fort Gibson Lake

A long, timbered reservoir on the Grand River northeast of Muskogee, and Billy's second home water for guided paddlefish trips.

Common questions

Before you call.

I have never fished for paddlefish. Is that a problem?

No. Most people in the boat are doing it for the first time. Billy sets the gear, shows you what to watch for and talks you through the fight. You do not need to know anything before you arrive.

Can we bring children?

Families and young anglers are welcome. Tell Billy the ages when you call so he can plan the day, the timing and the gear around your group.

How do I pick a date?

Call Billy at (918) 231-7600, or send an availability request with a preferred and an alternate date. A requested date is a preference, not a reservation — nothing is held until Billy confirms it with you.

Is the price per person or per boat?

The rates shown come straight from Billy. Confirm the price unit and what it covers for your party size when you call — that is the fastest way to get an exact number for your group.

Is the evening trip always available?

No. The evening short trip runs only when Billy's other bookings allow it. Call to ask about the start time and the length for the day you have in mind.
