Our lakes

Keystone Lake

A big, broad reservoir west of Tulsa where the Arkansas and Cimarron rivers meet — one of Billy's two home waters for guided paddlefish trips.

Keystone Lake sits just west of Tulsa, formed where the Arkansas and Cimarron rivers come together. It is one of the two lakes Billy guides on, and for many groups travelling from Tulsa, Sand Springs or Mannford it is the shorter drive. Paddlefish — spoonbill, same fish — are the specialty here.

What you are fishing for

Paddlefish. Spoonbill, if that is the word you grew up with — same fish, same day out. They are big, prehistoric-looking and unlike anything most people have had on the end of a line before, which is exactly why first-timers remember the trip.

Getting there

Keystone sits west of Tulsa, so groups travelling from Tulsa, Sand Springs and Mannford usually find it the shorter drive. The meeting point is arranged with Billy for your specific date, because the right place to launch depends on conditions.

One thing to get right

Keystone Lake and Sand Springs Lake are two different waters. Billy guides on Keystone. Worth checking that everyone in your group is heading to the same place.
